Sumatran rubber pilot.

HC partnered with WWF to develop a joint industry pilot to demonstrate how rubber’s downstream users can work together to make its upstream supply chain more sustainable, thus promoting the production and trade of transparent and sustainable natural rubber. The other pilot participants include Halcyon Agri, ITOCHU, Sumitomo (tyre maker), and DBS.

The pilot included the use of HeveaPro Data Center (HPDC) for the collection of raw material sourcing data via self-declared and app-based approaches, risk analysis of the sourcing data to identify supply chain risks, design of intervention programs to mitigate the identified risks, and use of dashboards on HeveaConnect Platform (HCP) to report on these activities.

Throughout the pilot, the HC team worked closely with the WWF team to engage the pilot participants to plan and execute the scope of activities. The pilot started in July 2020 and is currently still in progress. You can find the latest project update at this link.
